GODDARD – As of last week, Third Street by the Goddard Post Office has closed and will remain closed for roughly five to seven more weeks. With the construction, the exit drive out of the post office parking lot has been blocked off, leaving just one way in and out.

GODDARD – A jury in Sedgwick County came back with a guilty verdict in the case of a shooting in the Walmart parking lot in Goddard. The shooting last year left Anakin Zehring paralized.

HAYSVILLE – A Wichita man is likely headed to prison in the shooting death of a Haysville resident. James Raymond Standefer, 37, has pleaded guilty to second-degree reckless murder, the Wichita Eagle reported.

CHENEY – Isabel’s Pantry, the food pantry operated by St. Rose Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, will be open next week on Thursday.
