Staff report TSnews CHENEY – Garden Plain resident Wendell Hill will be the grand marshal at Saturday’s Veterans Day parade, held in Cheney and sponsored by American Legion Post 295. The parade will begin at 11:30 a.m., and will move north on Main Street.
TSnews Voters took to the polls on Tuesday to decide a number of city and school board races in Sedgwick and Sumner counties inside the TSnews coverage area. In Garden Plain, Kevin Hammond was easily elected to another two-year term as mayor.
A number of local election races are uncontested, where the number of candidates is equal to or less than the number of open seats. In uncontested races, TSnews does not normally send out questionnaires to those candidates.
TSnews reached out to candidates in all contested general election races for positions that are regularly covered by the newspaper. The candidates in each race were asked four questions.
