ARGONIA – Friday night is fall homecoming at Argonia High School. The homecoming ceremony is slated for halftime of Friday's Argonia-Attica Titans football game against Norwich.
TSnews The Cheney High School band started its season with a bang as it won a pair of high honors earlier this month at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson. The CHS band earned a 1+ in parade marching and another 1+ in arena performance – the highest honors a band can earn in competition.
GODDARD – Tanganyika Wildlife Park’s “baby boom” is in full swing. Just weeks after pygmy hippo, Mars, made global headlines with more than 40 million views, the park is celebrating another set of towering arrivals: three playful giraffe calves, born within six weeks of each other.
Kansas State University horticulture expert Cynthia Domenghini knows that die-hard flower gardeners are thinking about planting bulbs as fall rolls around. While tulips and daffodils are among gardener’s favorites, Domenghini said there are many other bulb varieties that can be planted in Kansas for a colorful spring show, namely: hyacinth, allium, Asiatic lily, crocus, snowdrops, and Oriental lily.
CALDWELL – Wheatland Electric Cooperative, Inc. (WEC) is participating in National Drive Electric Month with a new twist on its annual event: EVs & Espressos.
TSnews CHENEY LAKE – Winds were very calm on Sunday morning at Cheney Reservoir. At one point, there was a 15-minute stretch where there was no wind at all.
TSnews CHENEY – The local grocery store in Cheney, SPK Grocery, is up for sale. The news of the store being for sale started to spread Monday as people noticed “Business For Sale” painted on the front windows and on an entry door.
TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – With the official beginning of fall earlier this week, the timing is just right for this year’s Conway Springs Fall Fest. The annual event kicks off Saturday and concludes Sunday afternoon.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals competed last Thursday at Hesston, with the boys taking third and the girls coming in fourth in a unique team scoring meet. Runners competed by grade level, and points were scored off placings in each race.
