GARDEN PLAIN – This Saturday, the City of Garden Plain will host a groundbreaking and community party for its new pool. The event will be at noon in Garden Plain City Park.

TSnews Following a public hearing, the Garden Plain City Council approved a resolution Wednesday, Sept. 3, to exceed the revenue-neutral rate and increase the city’s property tax mill levy from 63 to 64 mills.

TSnews HAYSVILLE – The Haysville City Council approved the city’s budget at its meeting Monday and taxpayers will see a slight reduction in the mill levy in 2026. The levy will be 40.343 mills, down slightly from the 2025 rate of 40.445 mills.

Visitors to the final days of the Kansas State Fair should check the fair's website and social media for parking updates before heading to Hutchinson. Heavy rains on Monday made the majority of the fair's grass lots unusable, at least for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
