TSnews GODDARD – The Goddard City Council revisited the issue of parking at certain developments at its meeting Monday. The council first discussed removing all parking minimums for certain land uses at its July 21 meeting but took no action so two issues could be separated.

TSnews CLEARWATER – During the Clearwater City Council meeting on Aug. 12, Jason Gordon was sworn in to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Crystal Walter.

SEDGWICK COUNTY – The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has an overlay project on K-42 in Wichita that will impact commuters from Sedgwick and Sumner counties. Work began on Monday.

TSnews CHENEY – Members of the Cheney Chamber of Commerce had a brief but productive August meeting during a gathering at D’Mario’s last week. The main topic of discussion centered around two highway signs directing traffic to Cheney.

Following are next week’s menus for Friendship Meals and Meals on Wheels in both Sedgwick County and Sumner County. The recommended cost is $5 per meal, if you are able to pay.

CLEARWATER – The Clearwater High School Booster Club is hosting a barbecue and auction fundraiser on Saturday at the Clonmel Hall, at the intersection of 71st Street South and K-42 Highway, in rural Viola. The event begins at 6 p.m.

CHENEY – Commodities distribution in Cheney is slated for this Saturday, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Cheney Senior Center, 516 N.

TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – Now that things have gotten started on street projects in the Conway Springs community, work is moving along quickly. Members of the Conway Springs City Council got an update at their meeting last week, with progress reports on the asphalt street work in the northwest part of town, and the bidding process for Parallel Street.

GODDARD – There will be a joint meeting of the Goddard City Council and the Goddard Planning Commission next week on Wednesday. It will take place at 6:30 p.m.
