CONWAY SPRINGS – Two students have been named as the January artists of the month at Conway Springs High School. Savannah Remes, a senior and Art 2 student, was selected for her colored pencil drawing, “Dark Side.” It will be on display this month at Vintage Bank.

Campus High FCCLA makes commitment to serving community

TSnews HAYSVILLE – The Campus High School chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America has been making an impact in its community. The CHS chapter of FCCLA is very active in the Haysville community, including holding a Bingo and Baked Goods Benefit Night in December to raise funds for a national leadership conference in Washington, D.C.

Rhoadarmer honored by Kansas Thespians

CLEARWATER – Lex Rhoadarmer, longtime teacher and theater director at Clearwater High School, has been honored by the Kansas Thespians for 30 years of service in theater education. According to a release by the Kansas Thespians, Rhoadarmer “has inspired generations of students through a deep commitment to arts education, fostering creativity, confidence, and leadership both on and off the stage.

Power the Pantry raises $130,000

Thanks to the combined efforts of members, businesses, and community partners, the 2025 Power the Pantry campaign raised $130,203 in cash and food donations for a dozen local Kansas food banks. Over the past 11 years, Wheatland Electric Cooperative has facilitated the collection of more than 279 tons of food donations, or an astounding 558,183 pounds.

Grant to help with Argonia mural

ARGONIA – Wheatland Electric Cooperative, Inc. (WEC) announced on Jan. 5 that the Argonia Spaces to Places Initiative has been awarded a $1,000 grant from the WEC Sharing Success Fund to help support a community mural as part of ongoing revitalization efforts.

CONWAY SPRINGS – Conway Springs High School has released its list of honor roll students for the first semester of the 2025-26 school year. Students on the principal's honor roll have earned a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
