Sixty-five local men gathered at the State Bank Tuesday to fill out questionnaires and applications for obtaining work here on projects financed by the Federal Relief Commission. The applications have been sent to Topeka for classification and the applicants will be notified as to the working schedules permitted them.

Three girls on a bicycle were injured when a car struck them last Wednesday, July 12, at about 5:18 p.m. The crash occurred in the 1400 block of East Kay, on the north side of the Peachwood Manor mobile home park. According to Haysville police chief Jeff Whitfield, an eight-yearold girl who was standing on pegs on the front of the bike was thrown and injured when the crash occurred. The other two girls, ages 10 and 2, received minor injuries and did not require medical transportation. The 8-year-old girl's injuries were serious enough to require transportation to a hospital, and she was reportedly in critical but stable condition the following morning.

Chuck Reneau, owner of Argonia Farm Equipment, has returned from Chicago, where he attended the International Harvester Company's “Parade of Progress.” One of the interesting parts of the show was a square dance performed by Farmall tractors, with music and callers.
