Retiring principal receives service award

TSnews Karla Wulf, recently retired principal at Ruth Clark Elementary in Haysville, was the recipient of the Tim and Susan Norton Distinguished Service Award this year. “Karla was known for her structured protocol and relationships with students,” said Adia Ludwig, director of communications for Haysville schools.

CONWAY SPRINGS – Students at Conway Springs Middle School have been named to the 2025 spring honor roll. Students can be named to the principal’s honor roll, or be named honorable mention, based upon their grade-point average.

Construction starts on K-44

SUMNER COUNTY – Construction began this week on K-44 Highway in southern Sumner County, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) announced. The resurfacing project will take place in Sumner and Harper counties, from K2 to K-49.

Time to cut

As this week began, harvest was finally in full swing across much of southern and central Kansas. Wheat streak mosaic virus continues to challenge growers in parts of the state, according to Kansas Wheat, impacting yields and test weights.
