Following are next week’s menus for Friendship Meals and Meals on Wheels in both Sedgwick County and Sumner County. The recommended cost is $5 per meal, if you are able to pay.

At the scheduled meeting at “Spring Inn” last Thursday evening, Conway Springs’ new teen town held its election of officers and enrolled 42 charter members, with more members to be added. Officers elected are: Mayor- Ed Frantz; clerk- Glee Sanders; Council (one member from each of the high school classes) - Senior, Duayne Clum; junior, Jim Cline; sophomore, Jay Robinson; freshman, Wayne Riggs.

10 Years Ago Cheney High School students Chase McCormick and Matthew Slusser were chosen to participate in Kansas Music Educators Association all-state honors groups, earning one of the highest distinctions for student musicians in the state of Kansas. Southwestern College December 2014 graduates have been announced with nearly 200 students eligible to participate in Commencement exercises in Winfield on May 10.

GODDARD – Eisenhower High School's performing arts department will stage Rodgers & Hammerstein's “Cinderella.” Performances will be this Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m., and at noon on Saturday. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students, and will be available at the door.

HAYSVILLE – Three new members were elected to the Haysville Chamber of Commerce board of directors at last week's monthly meeting, held last Thursday at the Haysville Activity Center. Elected to the board were Monica Barton, Jeff Engel and Josh Wagoner.

TSnews CLEARWATER – During the Clearwater City Council’s Feb. 25 meeting, Mayor Burt Ussery named George Rudy the Citizen of the Year for 2024.

CHENEY – Sedgwick County has announced that it will be doing work on the 375th Street West bridge over the south fork of the Ninnescah River on March 17. The bridge is located about a mile south of Cheney.

TSnews OST – St. Joseph Catholic School in Ost, just a stone's throw away from Cheney State Park in southeastern Reno County, has received the Diocesan District Award for Academic Achievement.

GODDARD – The Goddard Woman's Club is hosting a free community program with two key City of Goddard leaders. Mayor George Liebe and city administrator Craig Crossette will be the featured speakers at next Tuesday's event.
