CLEARWATER – Rachel Strickland-Denne, a Clearwater High School alumnus, has been inducted into the Friends University Athletics Hall of Fame. Strickland-Denne is a 2005 graduate of Clearwater, and a 2009 graduate of Friends.
TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – Improvements to Central Park got a lot of attention at last week's meeting of the Conway Springs City Council. The park was the center of activities at the recent Conway Springs Fall Festival, and numerous positive comments were made about the celebration and all of its volunteers.
TSnews CHENEY – The next step forward toward a new swimming pool was approved by the Cheney City Council at last Thursday's meeting. Council members signed off on having Waters Edge, an aquatic design firm, do 60-percent construction documents, which will give the city a better opinion of the cost of an overall project.
CLEARWATER/HAYSVILLE – Sign-up for the join Haysville-Clearwater- Mulvane basketball league is this Friday. Games for the league will be played in all three town, with all first- and second-grade games played in Haysville.
WELLINGTON – The Sumner County Historical & Genealogical Society will host “Kansas Railroad Depots: Taking a Look Back at Stops Along the Railroad Track.” The presentation by J. Harvey Koehn will be at 6:30 p.m.
