Goddard’s Schroeder named top court clerk

GODDARD – The City of Goddard has announced that court clerk Cathy Schroeder has been awarded the 2024 Outstanding Court Clerk award. Each year, the Kansas Association for Court Management (KACM) presents an Outstanding Court Clerk award to someone who has contributed to their profession in ways that stand out.

CS residents raise concerns about neighbor with dogs, loud music

TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – Several local residents made their concerns known at last week's Conway Springs City Council meeting over a neighbor just outside the city limits who they say has aggressive dogs and disturbs their peace with loud music. The residents noted that the problems they are having have been going on too long.

More than just meals

TSnews Each weekday in the communities of Argonia, Cheney, Clearwater, Conway Springs, Haysville and now Goddard, healthy lunches are provided at senior centers and delivered to seniors ages 60 and older who are unable to get out. The meals are grouped into two categories, congregate and delivery.
The first Friendship Meals were served on Tuesday at the Goddard Community/Senior Center. Goddard joins other cities with Friendship Meals and Meals on Wheels, including Argonia, Cheney, Clearwater, Conway Springs and Haysville.

Following are next week’s menus for Friendship Meals and Meals on Wheels in both Sedgwick County and Sumner County. The recommended cost is $5 per meal, if you are able to pay.

Drop off hazardous waste at Spirit

WICHITA – Sedgwick County Environmental Resources will host a free household hazardous waste collection event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday at Spirit AeroSystems, K-15 and MacArthur St., in Parking Lot P.
