Next week’s papers will arrive a day late

Optimism spreads as wheat harvest begins

Body Staff report TSnews Combines began rolling in southern Kansas late last week, as farmers began test cutting or started to harvest their wheat crops. According to Kansas Wheat, harvest started earlier than normal because wheat matured early and farmers have tried to beat storms.
Harvest is a family affair. After a day of cutting, Dan Buerki gets a hug from his granddaughters, Jada, Julia and Jenna. The field is located near west Wichita.
