TSnews HAYSVILLE – Members of the Haysville Chamber of Commerce were guests of the Haysville Community Library during the Chamber's April meeting on April 18. A free lunch was provided by the Friends of the Haysville Library, an organization that raises funds that purchase new books and materials for the library.

TSnews CHENEY – This year's Sedgwick County Fair will mark a milestone, and organizers are already working on ways to celebrate in a big way. The 2024 Sedgwick County Fair, to be held at the fairgrounds in Cheney, will celebrate its 80th anniversary during the Fair's run July 10 through 13.

HAYSVILLE – The third annual mayor's prayer breakfast, hosted by Haysville Mayor Russ Kessler, will be held 7-8 a.m. May 2.

Extension Summer is knocking on the door, which for many folks means picnics and swimming and gardening and other outdoor activities. That also means sun.

TSnews GARDEN PLAIN – There has been a lot of activity recently in the City of Garden Plain's parks. Grant funding and money from the city's 1 percent sales tax have helped pay for the numerous upgrades and maintenance.

CHENEY – Twelve Kansas high school senior football players have been selected by the Coach Bill Snyder Family/Sunflower Chapter of the National Football Foundation as 2023-24 scholar-athletes as a result of their performance on the field, in the classroom and through school and community involvement.

Sixty-one Wichita area students have been awarded scholarships to Kansas State University totaling $49,750. The scholarships were awarded on April 8 by the Wichita Area K-State Alumni Club, K-State Alumni Association, Compton Family Endowment, McCandless Family Endowment, Vanguard Endowment, the Ed Frey and BJ Wells Family, the Schawe Family and the Trumble Family/Baird Private Wealth Management. Fifty-three of those students were awarded alumni scholarships.

GODDARD – Eisenhower Middle School is hosting a sports information night for EMS and Discover Intermediate School students who will be in seventh or eighth grades in the fall and are interested in sports. The event will be at EMS.

TSnews GODDARD – Reb Boutique is something of a final chapter in Rebecca Simpson's notable fashion career. She has been designing clothes and accessories for approximately 25 years, starting with Glory in Wichita.

TSnews GODDARD – Creating body art always has been a career goal for Ellie Taylor, owner of the recently-opened Squid Ink Tattoo Studio in downtown Goddard. She officially opened her store on April 5, when she and neighboring business REB Boutique shared a ribbon cutting.
