TSnews GODDARD – Girls Scouts in Troop 40266 planted a tree as part of an Earth Day celebration on Monday evening at Linear Park in Goddard. The Scouts, along with the Goddard Chamber of Commerce, also held a ribbon-cutting to mark the occasion and to kick off Neighbors United, the annual community betterment effort that will take place this Saturday.
TSnews CLEARWATER – Four Clearwater area youth archers will compete at the end of April in US Western National Tournament, sponsored by the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). The tournament will be April 26-27 in Sandy, Utah, which is in the Salt Lake City area.
Wildflowers offer variety and color to a home landscape. In addition to eye appeal, they can survive in soils containing a wide range of chemistry pH and with varying numbers of sunny days, adding variety to garden areas.
ARGONIA – High school and junior high school musicians will display their talents at the spring showcase this Monday. The performances will start at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Argonia High School gymnasium.
HAYSVILLE – The Haysville Public Schools all-district concerts for musicians will be held next week. The fifth grade all-district band concert will start at 6 p.m.
TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – Upgrades for the EMS building in Conway Springs were approved last week by the City Council. Travis Willson with EMS asked the council for approval of station lighting remodeling work.
TSnews GODDARD – Goddard’s new north park took another step toward reality with the city council’s approval at Monday’s meeting of a contract with Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) to begin designing the park. The new 9-acre park is located near the southwest corner of 183rd Street West and Maple.
