Body ARGONIA – It's homecoming week at Argonia schools. The Argonia Raiders take on the Flinthills Mustangs this Friday, starting with girls varsity at 6 p.m., followed by boys varsity.

Body TSnews GODDARD – New dedicated turn lanes at 183rd Street West and US54 Highway took another step closer to reality at Monday’s Goddard City Council meeting. The council approved a contract with TranSystems for field services for the project in the amount of $96,888.69.

Body From February 1951 The Youth Group of the local churches were guests of the Youth Group of Viola Sunday evening in the United Presbyterian church. The Conway Springs group gave the lesson and worship service and the Viola group the recreation and refreshments.

Body Dale Pearce has received a state permit for construction of an overflow dam across the Chikaskia River south of Argonia. When completed, the project should bring to the Argonia community not only an excellent place to fish, but also camping grounds and a picnic area.

Body TSnews HAYSVILLE – A remodeled and locally-owned grocery store seemed to be a big hit last weekend. After being closed for a week for cleaning, refreshening and new equipment, Leeker’s Family Foods returned to Haysville after a two-decade absence.

Body TSnews CHENEY – Black smoke rising into the sky created quite a scene in Cheney Monday night, as a fire broke out in the shop section of Lubbers Ford. The multi-line dealership has separate buildings for Ford and Chevrolet sales.
