A Doggie Boutique in Goddard has been closed after a car drove into the building last Thursday. There were no injuries. Owner Robin Benson said in a Facebook post that things could have been worse and that all of her employees were safe outside of some bumps and bruises. No animals were harmed. The crash happened before 9 a.m. in the 200 block of South Goddard Road, when a red SUV drove all the way into the building. The Goddard Police and Sedgwick County Fire and EMS responded.

Sedgwick County Sheriff's deputies are investigating an injury accident that resulted in a fatality last Sunday near Cheney Lake.

The accident happened at the intersection of 21st Street North and 391st Street West.

According to the the sheriff's office, the accident occurred at approximately 7:04 p.m.

GODDARD - The Goddard Chamber of Commerce is holding a Goddard City Council candidate forum at Tanganyika Wildlife Park next Tuesday. There are three seats open for the Goddard City Council in 2023.

On Nov. 7, Conway Springs voters will cast their ballots on a proposed sales tax increase to fund street repairs in the community.

CLEARWATER - A candidate forum for mayor, city council, and board of education will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26 at Clearwater High School.

CONWAY SPRINGS – Following a whirlwind of recent resignations, the Conway Springs City Council now has two vacant seats that will need to be filled. The council met last Tuesday for a regular meeting, and prior to that meeting, Daryle Smith resigned as the mayor of Conway Springs.

GODDARD – City leaders in Goddard have dropped plans to pave Hawkins Lane, the road to the entrance of Tanganyika Wildlife Park. A proposed plan would have paved Hawkins Lane, which currently is a dirt road connecting Maple Street to the entrance of the park.

GARDEN PLAIN - Kelly McElroy began her first day as Garden Plain city administrator on Oct. 16.
