Haysville business receives city grant

HAYSVILLE – Black Eagle Martial Arts in Haysville was recently presented a business matching grant from the City of Haysville. The Economic Development New, Expanding or Relocating Business Lease Matching Grant aims to fill available Haysville buildings for lease and incentivize businesses to lease, relocate, or expand within the city limits and boost the city's economic impact.

Post office change in Goddard

GODDARD – As of last week, Third Street by the Goddard Post Office has closed and will remain closed for roughly five to seven more weeks. With the construction, the exit drive out of the post office parking lot has been blocked off, leaving just one way in and out.

Garden Plain native runs around world

TSnews Darren Martin didn’t start running marathons until he was almost 50, but it has literally taken him all around the globe since then. Martin, a Garden Plain native, did not run his first marathon until his 49th birthday, but the love of running has taken him around the world since then.

Man pleads guilty in death of Haysville man

HAYSVILLE – A Wichita man is likely headed to prison in the shooting death of a Haysville resident. James Raymond Standefer, 37, has pleaded guilty to second-degree reckless murder, the Wichita Eagle reported.
