TSnews CHENEY – At its monthly meeting on Nov. 12, the Cheney City Council approved an agreement for 2026 between the Cheney Senior Center and Sedgwick County.

GODDARD – Mittens are now available for the annual Goddard Mitten Tree, and the need is greater than ever. Organized by the Goddard Lions Club, the Mitten Tree helps provide a happy Christmas for children and families in the Goddard community and the Goddard School District.

On Nov. 11, the Argonia High School Math Club participated in the Caldwell Math Relays.

CLEARWATER – A weekend show at Butler Community College will include a local student. The BCC theater department is presenting the classic musical “The Fantasticks” this Thursday through Saturday, with shows at 7 p.m.

TSnews CHENEY – Cheney Chamber of Commerce's biggest event of the year, Come home for Christmas, is just two weeks away. At November's Chamber meeting, more work behind the scenes to make this big event happen was discussed.

GODDARD – Tanganyika Wildlife Park announced last Friday the death of a much-loved animal. Oscar, a sloth, had developed severe anemia.

CHENEY – A Cheney man died in a one-vehicle crash last weekend in rural Kingman County near Cheney. Taylor Goldsmith, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene on Southeast 20th Street near 150th Avenue, which is about 3-1/2 miles south of Cheney on what is known as MacArthur Road in Sedgwick County.

TSnews GODDARD – A Northwest Expressway connecting K-96 Highway and US 54 Highway has been on the drawing board for years, with that proposed connection occurring near the City of Goddard. The Goddard City Council at its meeting Monday approved an ordinance establishing a corridor preservation plan overlay district for the potential future corridor for the Northwest Expressway project.

TSnews CHENEY – Following action at last week’s Cheney City Council meeting and publication of an ordinance summary in this week’s TSnews, the City of Cheney will allow residents to own rottweiler dogs in the city limits. The change comes with several restrictions.
