Mitten Tree needs more help than ever

GODDARD – Mittens are now available for the annual Goddard Mitten Tree, and the need is greater than ever. Organized by the Goddard Lions Club, the Mitten Tree helps provide a happy Christmas for children and families in the Goddard community and the Goddard School District.

Cheney man dies in weekend crash

CHENEY – A Cheney man died in a one-vehicle crash last weekend in rural Kingman County near Cheney. Taylor Goldsmith, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene on Southeast 20th Street near 150th Avenue, which is about 3-1/2 miles south of Cheney on what is known as MacArthur Road in Sedgwick County.

Goddard adopts overlay for Northwest

TSnews GODDARD – A Northwest Expressway connecting K-96 Highway and US 54 Highway has been on the drawing board for years, with that proposed connection occurring near the City of Goddard. The Goddard City Council at its meeting Monday approved an ordinance establishing a corridor preservation plan overlay district for the potential future corridor for the Northwest Expressway project.

Cheney to allow rottweilers, with restrictions
