Cheney Police Report Oct. 13: Investigated hit & run vehicle accident, 400 block N.

TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – The city of Conway Springs has lost its EMS director, along with another EMS staff member. At last week’s Conway Springs City Council meeting, the governing body accepted the resignations of EMS director Christina Perry and EMS staff member Kerry Murphy.

Prescription drug takeback events will be held this Saturday in Cheney and Haysville. The events will run from 10 a.m.

TSnews GODDARD – The Goddard City Council denied a rezoning request for Garver Inc., which is proposing to build single-family and two-family houses on the northwest corner of 183rd Street West and 31st Street South. The project is called the John Wuthnow development.

GODDARD – The Goddard Lions Club Mitten Tree program is now accepting applications to provide holiday meals and gifts to local families in need within the Goddard Public Schools district. This program ensures that children in need have clothing and gifts, and families have meals to celebrate the holiday season.

TSnews CLEARWATER – The Clearwater City Council on Oct. 14 approved a revised petition and accompanying resolution to move ahead with paving in the Indian Ridge Phase 2 subdivision, awarding the construction bid and signing off on engineering oversight after discussing how to cover a short-term funding shortfall.

Temperatures are dropping and leaves are falling, which means Halloween is quickly approaching. While the holiday is not always thought to be overly risky in terms of food safety, any time perishable foods are left out can be a nightmare.

TSnews CHENEY – The Cheney Chamber of Commerce annual chili and soup cook-off and community pep rally, which has become a popular event, will take place on Tuesday. Final plans for the cook-off were discussed at last week's Cheney Chamber of Commerce meeting.

TSnews ARGONIA – The City of Argonia's police chief, Tonia Brown, has resigned. Brown's resignation was accepted at the Oct.

CLEARWATER – Starting next Monday, Diagonal Road in Clearwater will close to all traffic. In addition, the railroad crossing on North Tracy Avenue will close.
