Stream advisory issued near Garden Plain

Body

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued a stream advisory for Polecat Creek and the confluence of Clear Creek, located south of Garden Plain.

The stream advisory is a result of an electrical power outage due to an extreme weather event at the City of Garden Plain’s wastewater plant. The City of Garden Plain is working to repair the problem.

A downburst struck the Garden Plain area early Wednesday. It resulted in a power loss across a stretch of western Sedgwick County. There was a considerable amount of tree damage in town, too.
