Body HAYSVILLE – The 23rd annual Haysville Chamber of Commerce scholarship golf tournament will take place at the end of this month. The tournament will be played on Tuesday, Aug.

Body HAYSVILLE – There is an open position on the board of directors for the Haysville Community Library. Interested parties can find a link to the application on the library's website, www.haysvillecommunitylibrary.

Body GODDARD – Renovations have started at the Goddard Community Center. The building, which was constructed in 1936, is undergoing major renovations that include bathroom updates and changes in the kitchen.

Body HAYSVILLE – Permits are now on sale for next weekend's 43rd annual citywide garage sales, to be held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 12-13.

Body GODDARD – A new phone application is helping Goddard Public Schools connect with students, families and the community at large. The app quietly went live in early July, and the district very recently announced the app so that people can download it.

Body Eight candidates are moving through to the November general election for the USD 268 Cheney Board of Education. Thirteen candidates were on the ballot on Tuesday.

Body CHENEY – The Cheney Saddle Club is hosting the second annual Bull Jam on Saturday night. The Bull Jam will start at 7 p.m., and will take place at the rodeo arena on the south end of the Sedgwick County Fairgrounds on Main Street in Cheney.

Body There will be one local race during next week’s primary election, the race for the USD 268 Cheney Board of Education. There are 13 candidates in the race for four seats, which is the minimum needed to trigger a primary election.

Body The Sedgwick County Fair wrapped up on Saturday with a big day of events and fun.
