TSnews Cheney author Susan Carter recently released her memoir, “Five Tickets to Kansas.” The storyline follows the lives of three individuals, interwoven by common themes of family, conflicts, and reconciliation. It begins in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada where a young couple, faced with infidelity and addictions, must decide between forgiveness or revenge.

RCUT construction begins in Goddard

TSnews Construction began this week in Goddard on a restricted crossing U-turn (RCUT). Project work is taking place on US Highway 54 between 183rd Street West and 199th Street West.

Cheney police officer arrested on rape charge

CHENEY – A police officer was arrested earlier this week after being accused of rape.

Cheney Police Chief Ken Winter confirmed that Officer Grant Cook was arrested on Tuesday following an interview with Sedgwick County Sheriff's investigators.

Winter said the victim reported to a full-time Cheney police officer on Monday. He was notified a short time after.

“We brought in the officer who was accused,” Winter said.

TSnews A few weeks ago, Goddard Public Schools held a first-ever job fair in an effort to fill open positions. This district has needs in a variety of areas, including para educators, maintenance, transportation and in nutrition services.

Medical issue cited in death of woman in Haysville

HAYSVILLE – At 5:27 a.m., on Thursday, July 27, 2023, Haysville Police were dispatched to the area of Grand Avenue and Broadway to assist Sedgwick County Fire and EMS with an unconscious person. At 5:28 a.m., Haysville Police arrived and found an unconscious 39-year-old female inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the Jump Start Convenience Store, located at 7200 S.
