The Central Plains League will be short a school and team when the 2025-26 school year begins. As reported by the Wichita Eagle, the remaining nine CPL schools voted unanimously to expel the The Independent School Panthers from the league.

Aviators, Curve start seasons

TSnews In the movie “Bull Durham,” catcher Crash Davis once said, “Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose (and) sometimes it rains.” The Haysville Aviators baseball team experienced all three last week, as last Tuesday’s game with the Kansas Cannons was suspended because of rain, then completed the next day with a 7-5 Aviators win. Later that day, Haysville suffered its first loss of the season when it dropped a 7-5 decision to the Cannons.

TSnews All-league honors have been released by the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League and Central Plains League following the conclusion of the 2024 softball season. The Campus Colts in Class 6A and the Andale-Garden Plain Indians-Owls in Class 4A ended their seasons as State runners-up, while the Clearwater Indians in 4A and the Cheney Cardinals in 3A earned State berths.

TSnews A trio of gold medals plus two runner-up performances led the Clearwater Indians girls track and field team to its third straight top-3 finish at the Class 4A State meet. The Indians finished third with 51 points this year.
