The Eisenhower Tigers are taking another swing at the 5A State title. The Tigers are returning to the State tournament at Wichita State for a fourth straight year after two wins on Tuesday.
By Sam Jack TSnews Eisenhower Tigers singles player Kyle King finished his junior tennis season with a fifth-place finish at the Class 5A State Tournament in Andover, improving on his 10th-place medal last year. On Friday, King had a first-round bye.
TSnews The Campus Colts wrapped up the regular season at last week’s Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Div. I meet, which took place last Friday and Saturday in Maize.
TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers softball team entered postseason play with some momentum after winning a pair of games last Thursday – but more than that, head coach Amber Brunswig earned her 100th career coaching win in the process. The Tigers beat Wichita Northwest 19-8, then beat Bishop Carroll 4-3.
The Campus Colts boys track team finished fourth at last Friday’s Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League meet, right in the middle of the seven-team pack. The meet was held at Maize South High School.
TSnews The Conway Springs-Argonia Reds baseball team saw its season end last Thursday in the opening round of the Class 3A Douglass regional with a 9-2 loss at Wichita Collegiate. The Reds (8-15) led 2-1 going to the bottom of the third inning, but Wichita Collegiate took the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the third and shut out CSA the rest of the contest.
The Cheney Cardinals and Garden Plain Owls went head-to-head for both the girls’ and boys’ titles at the Central Plains League championship at Medicine Lodge last Thursday. Those were the only teams, girls or boys, to score more than 100 points.
