TSnews The Cheney Cardinals and Conway Springs-Argonia Reds baseball teams split a doubleheader last Thursday at Cheney, with the Cardinals taking the opener 10-0 and the Reds taking the nightcap 3-1. Cameron Eastman was brilliant on the mound in the opener, tossing a twohit shutout while striking out five and walking two.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians softball team made the most of its inaugural softball showcase last weekend, winning all three games and improving to 18-5 on the season. The Indians beat Wichita Trinity 6-0 last Friday, then beat Conway Springs-Argonia 11-1 in the first game Saturday.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals boys golf team came out on top of last Friday’s 36hole Hillsboro and Marion County golf tournament, where teams play 18 holes each at Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course and Marion Country Club. Hillsboro and Marion are about 15 miles apart from each other.

Raiders run at Pretty Prairie

TSnews The Argonia Raiders track and field team went to Pretty Prairie last Thursday. Seven of the nine teams they competed against will be at their Class 1A regional next week.

Golf tourney to benefit Cheney band

CHENEY – There is still time to sign up for the seventh annual Cheney High School Band golf tournament. This year, the band department is raising money to purchase new drumline equipment.
