TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers softball team entered this week on an eight-game winning streak after sweeping a pair of doubleheaders last week. The Tigers swept Arkansas City last Tuesday, 5-2 and 11-7, respectively, then took a pair from Salina Central last Friday, 7-2 and 5-2.

The Tigers took a pair from Arkansas City last Tuesday (13-12 and 4-2, respectively), then swept a twin bill from Salina Central three days later (12-1 and 3-1).
TSnews In the “Roar on 54,” soccer edition, the Eisenhower Tigers girls were victorious over the Goddard Lions, 2-0 at Goddard on April 18. “We switched our formations a little bit, went in with a good game plan, and the girls played really well,” Tigers head coach Roger Downing said.
TSnews Track athletes from Cheney, Clearwater and Goddard high schools tested themselves against some of the best competitors from the state last week at the Shocker Pre-State meet, held at Wichita State in conjunction with the K.T. Woodman collegiate meet.
TSnews Three out of four boys tennis teams in the TSnews coverage area hosted meets last week, while the fourth, Eisenhower High School, had a break from varsity competition. At Campus High School, the Colts mostly struggled, finishing in seventh or eighth in their events.
TSnews The Goddard Lions girls soccer team had a strong showing last week, beating Newton 4-1 on Tuesday, then blowing out Salina Central 10-0 on Thursday. The Newton game seemed pretty evenly matched for the first 10 or 20 minutes, Lions head coach Josh Hansen said.
The Campus Colts girls soccer team got a welcome win at Salina Central on April 9, beating the Mustangs 2-1. “The girls played well,” Colts head coach Casey Reece said.
TSnews The Eisenhower girls soccer team went 1-1 on the soccer field last week, losing 4-3 versus Maize on Tuesday, then rebounding with a 4-1 victory over McPherson. Hosting Maize, Tigers head coach Roger Downing said his team pretty much dominated play and possession throughout the game, but “a couple of breakdowns” resulted in Maize goals and required the Tigers to play catchup.
