TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys wrestling team had two champions and two more in the finals as the Indians took second last Saturday at their own Clearwater Invitational. On the girls side, the Indians took eighth as a team on the strength of three fourth-place individual finishes.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals girls basketball team outscored the Garden Plain Owls 16-6 in the third quarter of last Friday’s game, and that run made the difference as the Cardinals won 48-34 in Garden Plain. Both teams were looking to bounce back from lopsided losses on Jan.

The Campus Colts basketball teams’ Friday games with the Derby Panthers were postponed, as both schools and many others called off classes for the day. The Colts did not have games early last week.

Clearwater starts new year with loss

TSnews The Clearwater Indians girls basketball team found itself in an early hole it never could dig out of as it opened 2024 last Tuesday with a 43-26 loss to the Halstead Dragons. Halstead led 14-3 after the opening period and extended its lead to 23-10 by the intermission.

TSnews The Goddard Lions wrestling team had two boys win titles and 10 overall finish in the top six as the Lions’ boys squad took second at the Dodge City Invitational last weekend. “Dodge City was a good tournament for our kids to get five matches each in one day after the long holiday break,” Goddard coach Brett Means said.
