Owls take shine off Knights

Body TSnews The Garden Plain Owls boys basketball team exploded out of the gate Tuesday night, racing to a 22-7 first-quarter lead at the Trinity Academy Knights. They rode that momentum to a 64-41 victory.

AHS boys win SCBL opener

Body The Campus Colts swimming and diving team swims twice this week after being idle last week. The Colts started the week on Tuesday with a meet hosted by Derby, although the meet took place at Campus High School, which is the Panthers’ home pool.

Cheney routs Kingman in week’s only game

Body TSnews Weather cut the Cheney Cardinals boys basketball team’s schedule in half last week, but the Cardinals performed well in the one game they did play, a 67-37 beating at the Kingman Eagles. The Cardinals made nine 3-point baskets and grabbed a season-high 38 rebounds.

Lions boys beat rival Tigers

Body TSnews The Goddard Lions boys basketball team beat the Eisenhower Tigers at home on Jan. 12, 58-55, creating their first twogame winning streak against the cross-town rivals since the schools split.

Argonia falls to West Elk in SCBL tourney

Body TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team found the second time was not a charm Monday night as it fell 41-36 to the West Elk Patriots in the quarterfinals of the South Central Border League Tournament. It was the Raiders’ second loss in four nights to West Elk.

Conway Springs opens 2024 with win

Body TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals girls basketball team got the new year off to the start it hoped for last Thursday with a 59-25 rout of Douglass. The Cardinals led 22-17 at the intermission, but used a strong third period to lead 41-20 going to the fourth quarter.
