Conway Springs girls split games

The Conway Springs Cardinals girls basketball team started the week strong as the Cardinals sprinted out of the gate last Tuesday and rolled to a 60-17 win over Caldwell. Conway Springs (2-4) led 26-2 after the opening period and never looked back against its Sumner County rivals, leading 33-9 at the intermission and 49-11 to open the fourth quarter.

Garden Plain boys fall at Ell-Saline

The Garden Plain Owls basketball team came up just a little short against the Ell-Saline Cardinals, falling 50-43 in one of last week’s games between teams from the Central Plains League and the Heart of America League.

Tigers beat Valley, fall to Andover

The Eisenhower Tigers boys basketball team won on the road at Valley Center last Tuesday, Dec. 12, 63-58, then lost at home on Friday versus Andover, 62-48.

AHS boys drop games

The Argonia Raiders boys basketball team came close to picking up its second win of the season last Friday night at South Barber. Close, but not quite, as the Raiders fell to the host Chieftains 41-37 to drop to 1-5 on the season entering this week.

The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team’s 5550 win over El Dorado last Tuesday was memorable for many reasons. For starters, it was the first victory for Clearwater head coach Jonathan Dykstal at the helm of the Indians.

Cheney girls edge Trinity to stay unbeaten

With two victories last week, the Cheney Cardinals girls basketball team improved its record to 6-0. The Cardinals squeaked past the Trinity Academy Knights 43-42 on Tuesday, and then rolled over visiting Bennington 44-13 last Thursday.

Lions beat Salina Central, fall at Hutch

The Goddard Lions boys basketball team went 1-1 last week, winning at home versus Salina Central on Tuesday, 64-55, then falling at Hutchinson on Friday, 62-50. Hosting Salina Central, Lions head coach Blake Myers said his team played well and held the lead throughout the game.
