Raiders earn first win of Callaway era

The Argonia Raiders boys basketball team’s 63-47 win over Udall last Saturday in the fifth-place game of the Border Queen Tournament at Caldwell was doubly good for the Raiders. Not only was it Argonia’s first win of the season, it also was Jake Callaway’s first win as head coach of the Raiders.

Cheney girls win Classic

The Cheney girls are champions of their own Cardinal Classic basketball tournament. The Cardinals edged Chaparral 49-48 for their first tournament victory since December 2020.

Short-handed Cards salvage Classic win

The Cheney boys basketball team, still missing three key players who are recuperating from football injuries, struggled to a 1-2 record and fifth-place finish in the annual Cardinal Classic. The Cardinals got back into the win column with a 55-40 victory over the Chaparral Roadrunners, winning the fifth-place game and evening their season record at 2-2.

GHS boys beat Buhler

On Tuesday, Dec. 5, the Goddard Lions boys basketball team found themselves in a somewhat unfamiliar position, at least since the founding of Eisenhower High School: They traveled to Buhler as solid favorites.

Indians fall to Ark City

The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team entered this week in search of its first win after the Indians dropped a 62-45 decision to the Arkansas City Bulldogs last Tuesday night in Clearwater. With the loss, the Indians fell to 0-2 on the season.

Cardinals get first win at Kingman

The Conway Springs Cardinals boys basketball team got its first win of the season last Saturday as it defeated Haven 4233 in the fifth-place game at the Kingman Eagle Classic. The win was extra sweet after the Cardinals (1-3) dropped their first two games at the Classic, falling to host Kingman 46-42 last Tuesday and 58-43 to Great Bend last Thursday.
