TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team did not need long to match its win total from last season. The Indians opened their season at home last Friday and defeated the Chapman Irish 59-35, starting the season 1-0 and matching last season’s win total in the process.

TSnews The Campus Colts boys basketball team went 1-2 in the season- opening Salina Invitational, with games last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Colts’ win came in overtime on Friday in Salina, as Campus beat the Liberal Redskins.

TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team got its season off to a strong start last Tuesday when it knocked off the Stateranked Attica Bulldogs 26-15. Attica entered the game ranked eighth in the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Class 1A Division II preseason poll.

TSnews The Campus Colts started the high school wrestling season strong last Thursday night at Cheney, with their boys and girls wrestling teams each sweeping a pair of duals against the Clearwater Indians and the host Cardinals. On the boys side, the Colts edged out Clearwater 45-36 in a contest which came down to the final match, while Campus rolled past the host Cardinals 72-12.

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals boys basketball team used a strong third quarter to take control of last Friday’s season opener with Central Plains League rival Medicine Lodge on the way to a 65-57 win over the host Indians. Conway Springs coach Paul Lange expected Medicine Lodge to give his team a battle – and the Indians did just that.
