TSnews The Rock Creek Mustangs edged the visiting Cheney Cardinals 14-7 in last Friday’s Class 3A playoff game. The Cardinals had a chance to tie or win late in the game, but were kept out of the end zone, and ended their season with a 7-4 record that included two playoff victories.

TSnews A pair of Goddard Lions’ turnovers helped the Salina Central Mustangs to a big second half and a 62-32 win over the Lions in Friday’s Class 5A football playoff game. The Lions also lost starting quarterback Brock Sullivan to injury and he missed most of the game.

TSnews Carsten Flores kicked a 22-yard field goal in overtime to give the Cheney Cardinals a 23-20 road win at the Holcomb Longhorns in last Friday’s Class 3A playoff football game. Flores played a big role in the Cardinals’ win, kicking three field goals.

TSnews The task for the Argonia- Attica Titans football team was to do something nobody else has this season – beat the Wallace County Wildcats in last Friday’s 8-player Div. II playoff game.

TSnews The Garden Plain Owls football team defeated the visiting Beloit Trojans 31-14 last Friday, and in the process washed their palettes of last year’s home playoff loss to the same team. The Owls owned the first half, scoring on all three of their possessions.

TSnews The Campus Colts boys soccer team saw its season end in a 3-0 regional-opening loss at Maize on Tuesday, Oct. 28, but head coach Casey Reece said the score didn’t match how competitive the match was.

TSnews The Goddard Lions boys soccer team saw its season end with a 5-0 loss at No. 2 seed Newton in a regional opener on Tuesday, Oct.

TSnews Nearly everything went right as the Argonia-Attica Titans cruised to a 68-28 victory in Argonia over the St. John Tigers in the 8-player Div.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians jumped out to a big lead in last Friday’s home win over the Goodland Cowboys, going on to win 48-0 and finishing the football season with a 3-6 record. The Indians gained 363 yards of offense, while limiting the Cowboys to just 93 yards.

TSnews Trailing 17-14 at halftime, the Goddard Lions scored 13 unanswered points to beat the Maize South Mavericks 27-24 in last Thursday’s Class 5A playoff football game at Goddard District Stadium. Getting a first-round playoff win was a big goal this season for the Lions, who had lost at home the past four seasons as the higher seed.
