TSnews The Clearwater Indians softball team improved to 17-2 as it won all six of its games last week – and two players hit milestones along the way. The Indians swept Buhler, 12-7 and 14-9, respectively, last Monday, then took two from Wellington last Thursday, 11-0 and 11-1.

The Goddard Lions lost both games last week, staring with a 3-1 loss at home against the Maize Eagles. The Lions and Eagles were tied 1-1 at halftime, but a pair of second-half goals by the Eagles dashed the Lions’ hopes for an upset.

TSnews Eisenhower added to its win streak with a pair of shutouts last week, including an 8-0 victory over the Arkansas City Bulldogs last Thursday. Kaeleigh Shamburger scored a total of four goals, including three of the Tigers’ first four goals.

Home was sweet last Tuesday for the Campus Colts boys tennis team. The Colts won a quadrangular with Hutchinson, Wichita Northwest and Wichita South last Tuesday, taking the title with seven points, five ahead of runners-up Wichita Northwest and Hutchinson.

TSnews The Campus and Eisenhower- Goddard swim teams are looking ahead to their league meets as the regular season wraps up. The teams competed at Campus High on April 30.

TSnews Three local teams took part in the Clearwater golf tournament on April 28, which took place at the Indians’ home course, Pine Bay in Haysville. Andale-Garden Plain won the tournament by nine strokes, with a pair of Garden Plain golfers contributeing.

TSnews The Cheney track and field teams both placed second at last Friday’s Conrad Nightingale Invitational in Halstead. The girls placed behind Hesston, which won 96-80.
