Colts take second at Wichita Collegiate

The Campus Colts boys tennis team went to Wichita Collegiate last Tuesday for a tournament and tied Valley Center for third with seven points. The host Spartans won the event with 11 points, while Wichita East was second with eight.

Lions swamp Vikings

Goddard started last week with a tough shutout loss to Derby, giving up four first-half goals in a 6-0 loss. But on Thursday, the Lions turned the tables with a 10-2 victory over the Winfield Vikings.

The Goddard Lions boys placed third at the Maize South Invitational on April 9. Eisenhower placed 10th in the 12-team field.

The Clearwater Indians softball team suffered its first loss of the season on Monday as the Indians dropped a 9-4 decision at Circle. However, Clearwater rallied for a 7-5 win in the nightcap to salvage the split.

Baseball

Reece Tolar had a day to remember for the Cheney Cardinals in the second game of last Thursday’s baseball doubleheader at Chaparral. Tolar struck out a school-record 18 batters as he tossed a one-hitter in a 7-1 win over the host Roadrunners to complete the sweep.

Eisenhower played at Hutchinson on Tuesday, and will play Derby this Thursday for the first of three straight home games. Goddard visits next Tuesday, and the Tigers play Newton after that.
