TSnews The Clearwater Indians softball team improved to 8-0 after sweeping a pair of doubleheaders, downing Winfield 17-2 twice last Thursday and taking a pair from Mulvane on Monday, 15-0 and 7-5, respectively. Makena Hampton and Liv Miller each had three hits and a home run in last Thursday’s opener, while Hampton, Miller and Paige Goforth each had three hits in the second game and Miller homered again.

TSnews The Goddard Lions baseball team continued its hot start to the season as it took a doubleheader from Salina South last Thursday, taking the opener 9-1 and the nightcap 9-5. Lincoln Jensen, Deacon Schmidt and Aaron Topham combined on a four-hitter in the opener, striking out 12 between them.

Teams open season at Eisenhower meet

TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers held their season-opening participation meet on March 31, with the Goddard Lions and Campus Colts among the teams in attendance. Teams are allowed unlimited entries in participation meets, giving teams a good opportunity to see where athletes stand early in the season.

The Campus Colts and Eisenhower and Goddard Tigers finished first and second at last Thursday’s meet at Campus High’s Glenn Crum Natatorium. The Colts finished well ahead of the rest of the five-team field, winning with 454.5 points.

TSnews The Campus Colts girls soccer team went 3-0 at the Wichita South Titan Classic tournament last week, beating Cair Paravel Latin School 3-2 on Tuesday, Wichita Heights 4-0 on Wednesday, and Wichita Classical 4-2 on Saturday. Colts head coach Casey Reece said the team played well throughout the week, particularly on offense.
