Body The Argonia Raiders boys basketball team has several familiar faces on its roster this season, but the face at the helm of the program is a new one. Veteran basketball coach Morgan Grippin takes the helm of the Raiders – and will coach Argonia’s girls team as well.

Body The Campus Colts swimming and diving team started the season with a nice home win on Monday. The Colts scored 407 points to best Bishop Carroll (357 points) and Derby (201).

Body State football championships were decided last Friday and Saturday. Some of the winners were on the 2025 schedules of local teams, including Sterling (Conway Springs), Salina Central (Goddard twice, Eisenhower), and Cunningham (Argonia-Attica).

Body Players from the Garden Plain Owls, Cheney Cardinals and Conway Springs Cardinals have been named to the Central Plains League's 2025 allleague teams.

Body Several soccer players in the TSnews coverage area have been named to the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League's all-league lists, following the 2025 boys season. Eisenhower senior forward Austin Martinez and junior defender Jackson McCoy were named to the Division II first team.

Body All-league selections are being released following the end of volleyball season, and local players are among those offered. Central Plains League Top honors went to local schools in the Central Plains League.

Body The winter sports season will get underway next week, with basketball, wrestling, and swimming and diving. Argonia High School starts basketball with a pair of home games, hosting Attica on Tuesday and Pretty Prairie on Friday.

Body TSnews The Hoisington Cardinals relied on a stiff rushing defense to beat the Garden Plain Owls 36-7 in last Friday’s Class 2A football playoff game. The host Cardinals won the line of scrimmage, holding the Owls to just 76 rushing yards on 25 attempts.
