District front-runner Pratt gets win in Clearwater

Tigers lose wild affair with Andover Central

TSnews The stats from last Friday’s football game between the Eisenhower Tigers and visiting Andover Central Jaguars are a bit mind-blowing – 108 total points, more than 1,000 combined yards, 133 offensive plays and 16 touchdowns. The end results was a 55-52 win for the Jaguars, which improved their record to 4-3 and dropped the Tigers to 2-6 this season.

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals’ best volleyball season in many years keeps getting better. The Cardinals hit their latest milestone Monday night when they won the Class 2A Conway Springs regional in dominating fashion, downing Udall 25-18, 25-14 in the regional opener, then beating Uniontown 25-11, 25-5 to set up a title showdown with Cedar Vale/Dexter.

TSnews The Campus Colts boys soccer team rebounded from an 8-0 loss to Maize South on Monday, Oct. 14, with an 8-0 win over Circle on Wednesday at Clearwater High School.

Cross Country

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals girls and boys teams both placed second at Thursday’s Central Plains League, hosted by Trinity Academy. Trinity swept the championships.

Colts corralled in visit to Salina South

TSnews The Campus Colts lost 55-6 at the Salina South Cougars, dropping the Colts to 0-7 this football season. The Cougars had been winless until last Friday, but three of those losses were by a touchdown or less, and another was by just 10 points.

Owls sweep district with shutout

TSnews The Garden Plain Owls football team claimed its third straight district title with last Friday’s 49-0 homecoming shutout of the Douglass Bulldogs. The Owls went 4-0 in Class 2A District 5, with three blowout victories and a hard 15-14 win over Haven.

Lions’ Chapman earns medal

The Goddard Lions girls golf team had one of its golfers come home with a medal from the Class 5A State tournament earlier this week at Emporia. Sydney Chapman carded a 181 over the two-day event on Monday and Tuesday to finish 16th, earning a medal as a top-20 finisher at State.
