Mustangs gallop past Colts

TSnews The Campus Colts fell to 0-3 this season following a 62-13 loss last Friday at the Salina Central Mustangs, in a game that was delayed by about 30 minutes by inclement weather. Once the game did start, the Mustangs wasted no time in letting their offense loose.

Conway Springs looks to rebound from loss

TSnews The Douglass Bulldogs stunned the visiting Conway Springs Cardinals, 44-3, last Friday in the final non-district game for both teams. The Bulldogs’ last win against the Cardinals was a 22-6 game during the 1996 season.

TSnews A Goddard-Campus Tournament rematch went Eisenhower’s way on Tuesday, Sept. 16, as the Tigers boys soccer team beat host Campus 2–1 behind goals from Luis Alfaro and Austin Martinez.

Cheney girls place second TSnews Two local runners finished in the top five at Wichita East’s Fritz Snodgrass Invitational, run at the Cessna Activity Center. Owen Dent of Eisenhower placed third, and Cheney’s Cash Young took fourth.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals girls golf team continued its hot play this season as it won the Kingman Invitational last Thursday. The Cardinals shot 385 as a team, 42 strokes ahead of runner-up Pratt.

Cardinals take second at Medicine Lodge

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals volleyball team continued its strong start to the season as it took second last Saturday at the Medicine Lodge tournament. The Cardinals swept Kingman 25-17, 25-16, downed Southwestern Heights 25-13, 25-11, Belle Plaine 25-13, 25-14 and South Central 25-13, 25-7 to face off with the host Indians in the finals.

Clearwater comeback comes up just short vs. Crusaders

TSnews After being shutout in the first half at home against the Wellington Crusaders, the Clearwater Indians came back to take a second-half lead. After give up that the lead, the Indians nearly pulled off a second comeback, getting within 15 yards of the end zone before falling 18-14 last Friday.
