TSnews Big plays helped the Eisenhower Tigers shake off an 0-2 start as they pounded the Newton Railers 46-13 to pick up their first win of the season on Friday night in Goddard. Eli Ribaudo looked up to the challenge in his first start at quarterback, throwing a pair of first-half touchdowns to help the Tigers to a 33-0 halftime lead.

TSnews An overtime touchdown helped the host Andover Trojans to a 19-16 victory against the Goddard Lions on Friday night. It was a close game all night, with the Lions scoring a late touchdown to force the extra period.

TSnews The Argona-Attica Titans earned a 36-28 win in Dexter over the Cedar Vale-Dexter Spartans last Friday. Four touchdowns by Carson Vineyard – two rushing and two receiving – helped power the Titans to the win.

TSnews With a 28-7 victory last Friday in Garden Plain, the Cheney Cardinals extended their win streak over the Owls to six games. It’s a turnaround in a series that saw more wins by Garden Plain and Cheney, including a run of 13 straight victories from the 2000 season through 2012.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals football team got into the win column last Friday with a 38-0 victory over the visiting Kingman Eagles. The win evened the Cardinals’ record at 1-1.

TSnews The Argonia-Attica Titans and Central Burden Raiders were locked in a tight battle throughout last Friday’s game, which ultimately was decided on a 2-point conversion that gave the Raiders a 22-20 double-overtime win over the Titans in Attica. It was a scoreless game through three quarters, as the teams kept each other from finding any points.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians bounced back from a Week 1 shutout defeat to earn their first shutout victory of the young season, 47-0 at home against the El Dorado Wildcats. The Indians took care of business against the Wildcats, who have lost 21 straight games with two winless seasons the past two years.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals volleyball team put an up-and-down start to its season in the rearview mirror last Saturday as the Cardinals repeated as champions of the Coleman Classic in Haven. The Cardinals won all five of their matches at Haven, downing Haven 25-22, 25-21, Kingman 2522, 25-12, Inman 25-18, 26-24, Garden Plain 26-24, 25-17 and Hutchinson Trinity 25-9, 25-11.

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals captured the team championship at the Pratt Varsity Meet on Sept. 13, powered by two undefeated doubles runs.
