Cardinals battle tough competition at Marysville

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals volleyball team did not back down from a stiff challenge last Saturday when it opened the season at the intensely rugged Marysville tournament in northeast Kansas. Cheney went 1-3 at the tournament, with all three losses coming against ranked competition.

Andale-GP competes at 4A Girls State Preview

TSnews The Andale-Garden Plain girls golf team got its season off to an early start, competing at the 4A Girls State Preview last Thursday at Carey Park Golf Course in Hutchinson – the first area team to hit the course this season. Andale-GP took 14th in the rugged 16-team field with a score of 422.

Wallace heads to Arizona to work on hoop game

TSnews Logan Wallace takes his basketball career seriously – so it should be no surprise he was willing to move 1,000 miles from home to enhance his chances of playing at the collegiate level and beyond. After playing his first two years of high school basketball at Cheney, Wallace will continue his basketball career at Phoenix's PHH Prep in Arizona.

Curve make round of 16 at SummerBall Showdown

The Kansas Curve summer collegiate baseball team wrapped up a strong season last week by making it to the round of 16 at last week's SummerBall Showdown in Goddard. The Curve dropped a pair of close games in pool play in Goddard, losing 5-4 to the El Dorado Walnuts last Wednesday and 2-0 to Cornbelt Omaha the next night.

TSnews The Kansas Curve summer collegiate baseball team took some solid momentum into the SummerBall Showdown by running the table to win the Kansas Collegiate League Baseball Tournament last weekend in Clearwater. The Curve opened the tournament by beating the Wellington Heat 8-7 last Friday in the first round, then beat the El Dorado Walnuts 9-3 the next evening in the semifinals.

SummerBall Showdown The Kansas Curve summer collegiate baseball team headed into the home stretch of its season by splitting a quartet of recent games. The Curve lost 11-7 to the Park City Rangers last Tuesday, then rolled past the Midwest Moos 13-3 the next night before falling 12-2 at Valley Center last Friday.
