TSnews It might be a bit of an understatement to say that Paisley Haskins had a Sumner County Fair to remember this summer. The Conway Springs girl won a long list of honors at both the Sumner County Fair in Caldwell and at the Sumner County 4-H Fair in Wellington.

TSnews Joan Hemberger’s award-winning quilt at the Sumner County Fair in Caldwell was an endeavor years in the making. Hemberger’s quilt took “seven or eight years” to make, but it was worth it in the end, as the Argonia native’s handiwork won grand champion in the open class at the Fair.

Cajun pasta shapes up to be an excellent, quick dinner

Ingredients 16 ounces pasta 1 pound ground sausage 1 medium onion, diced (I used yellow) 1 red bell pepper, diced 4 to 6 cloves garlic, minced 3 tablespoons Cajun seasoning 1 tablespoon dried oregano 1 tablespoon dried parsley 2 tablespoons tomato paste 8 ounces low-fat/fat-free cream cheese 1/3 cup parmesan, freshly grated red pepper flakes, to taste (optional) salt and pepper, to taste Directions Boil the pasta according to the package directions. Reserve two cups of the pasta water when you drain it.
