TSnews The Allen family has a set of grand champions from this year’s Sedgwick County Fair. Leah, 16 years old, and James, 13 years old, Allen took part in the Fair.

CONWAY SPRINGS — A production of “Rogues' Gallery” will be staged by the Conway Springs Community Theatre. The show times are Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday ay 4 p.m. Both shows are $5 at the door at the Conway Springs High School auditorium.

For two days last week, a huge, beautiful summer squash graced my kitchen counter. It took me a bit of time to mull over what I wanted to do with it.

Ingredients 8 ounces long pasta (I used fettuccine) 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 medium yellow summer squash, sliced thinly 6 cloves garlic, minced salt and pepper, to taste 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated 1/2 cup fresh basil, torn into pieces 1 tablespoon lemon juice Boil the pasta according to the box directions, and be sure to reserve at least one cup of the pasta water. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet.

State University Four statues stand in the rotunda of the Kansas statehouse. Three of those statues honor persons whose names are widely known: Aviatrix Amelia Earhart, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and publisher William Allen White.

Newman University officials have announced the students who completed the requirements to earn a degree at the close of the 2025 spring semester. Following are the local graduates, listed by community.

8 Years Ago A large crowd turned out for last Thursday's ribbon cutting and grand opening at the new Haysville Activity Center. The new HAC began operations a month ago, but last week's event served as both a celebration of the facility's completion and a chance to show off the facility for potential customers and residents who paid for the facility with a portion of a sales tax approved in 2015.
