Christmas trees bring Christmas glee, but they can bring even more than that once the holiday season is past, says Kansas State University horticulture expert Cynthia Domenghini. “An old Christmas tree can be used to benefit birds, fish and the landscape by placing it in a corner of your deck, and spreading some birdseed nearby, or tying it to a deciduous tree or post near a bird feeder,” she said.

Individuals may enter the contest at more than one location. However, winners will be limited to one per immediate family. 4. Contest ends and winners drawn Monday, December 9, 2024. Winners will receive a call by Wednesday, December 11. Each winner will be presented with a gift certificate to a local grocery store. 5. Any incomplete entry form may be disqualified. All entries must contain entrant’s first and last name, age, full address and daytime phone number. 6. All participating businesses and their winners will be listed in the December 19 edition of the newspaper.
