Hot results on a 'chili' day.

CHENEY – Eighth grade students at Cheney Middle School will present “Peter Pan,” a one-act play adapted by Jon Lory. The show has been rescheduled to 2 p.m.

CHENEY – A fundraiser for Cheney Methodist Church will feature K.C. Wolf, the Kansas Chiefs Mascot.

Just when I think I have explored every part of the produce section, I find something new to try. This time, it was bok choy.

Ingredients 2 tablespoons olive oil 8 ounces baby bella or shiitake mushrooms, sliced 5 green onions, thinly sliced Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large stock pot or Dutch oven. Saute the mushrooms and green onions until they are softened, and then add the ginger and garlic.

GODDARD – This Friday, students at Eisenhower High School will celebrate the culmination of winter homecoming week with the coronation of this year’s king and queen. The queen candidates are Ava Barrientos, Stella Kitt, Karli George, Ava Nall and Emma Spain, and the king candidates are Pierce Blue, Brody Engel, Colton Doll, Bryce Engel and Ethan Trometer.

CHENEY – Country music performing artist Jake Gill will perform in Cheney to raise funds for veterans. Gill will play this Friday at 9 p.m.

HAYSVILLE – Campus High School will celebrate winter homecoming this Friday. Coronation will take place between the Colts girls' and boys' varsity basketball games against the Valley Center Hornets.

The Conway Springs Middle School teams traveled to Garden Plain on Monday, Jan. 27, and to Belle Plaine on Thursday, Jan.
