HAYSVILLE – The deadline has been extended to take part in the Haysville Street Banner Program through the City of Haysville. For $300, participants will have their names or logos on four seasonal banners displayed in the spring, summer, fall and winter.
GODDARD – The Goddard City Council approved revisions to the city’s subdivision and zoning regulations as its meeting Monday. One revision will modify the R-1 zoning classification to allow smaller lots with smaller lot widths and depths.
CHENEY – Members of the Cheney Chamber of Commerce had a short meeting for the month of July, but heard some important updates from local businesses. First, representatives from the Souders Historic Farm Museum reported on events that it is hosting on its site west of Cheney. The museum was open during the Sedgwick County Fair, and also is gearing up for other openings in the future.
HAYSVILLE – A piece of Sarah Lane by Riggs Park in Haysville will remain closed for a few months. The road has been closed since early June because of a sink hole.
GODDARD – A prank quickly gained attraction on social media last weekend, as a banner featuring the Target name and logo with the words “coming soon” was seen along the south side of Kellogg Drive near the Goddard Galleria development. The “news” was quickly dispelled as being untrue, but that part of Goddard surrounding Walmart will see a lot more development in the near future.
Local schools and schools across Kansas are bracing themselves for a possible cut in funding that already has been appropriated by the United States Congress. Kansas Education Commissioner Dr.
May and June brought in heavy amounts of rain, causing farmers frustrations. It made the harvest drag on for many extra days, and farmers are just happy it’s over, said Randy Hein, Sumner County Extension Agent.
