GODDARD – The city’s new North Park will be built by Conco Construction, thanks to action taken at Monday’s Goddard City Council meeting. The council awarded a construction contract to Conco, which was one of three companies to submit bids.

As spring celebrations like prom and graduation approach, Goddard Public Schools took a powerful, proactive approach to ensure students understand the real-world consequences of impaired driving. Last week, both Goddard High School and Eisenhower High School hosted mock DUI crisis simulations: immersive, first-responder-led experiences designed to put students face-to-face with the seriousness of driving under the influence.

CLEARWATER – City officials and members of the Clearwater Senior Center came together Monday afternoon to officially break ground on an expansion of the senior center. The $475,000 expansion is being funded through a temporary note.

Bellar named Coach of the Year

CONWAY SPRINGS – Saying that Conway Springs High School tennis coach Chris Bellar has an impressive coaching pedigree might be an understatement. Bellar, who has coached tennis at CSHS since 1991, has led the Cardinals to four State titles – three boys titles (2004, 2005 and 2012) and one girls title (2012) – and several high finishes at the State tournament.

Teen dies in vehicle-pedestrian crash

PECK – The Sedgwick County Sheriff ’s Office is investigating a fatal vehicle- pedestrian crash that occurred on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in south Sedgwick County. At approximately 4 p.m., deputies, along with Mulvane EMS and Sedgwick County Fire District 1, responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 11800 block of South Meridian.
