Presentation to focus on the Ark

SUMNER COUNTY – The Sumner County Historical & Genealogical Society will host “Rediscovering the Arkansas River,” a presentation and discussion by Hannes Zacharias. The presentation was originally scheduled for early this week, but was postponed because of the winter storm.

Tickets are available for Sunday’s performance “My Daze in Doo Dah” by the Conway Springs Community Theatre. The show will be at 4 p.m. at the Viola Community Building. This is the only non-dinner show this weekend. Tickets are $5 with no reservation required, and are available at the door.

Driver sentenced in death of Clearwater officer

TSnews CLEARWATER – A 20-yearold driver has been sentenced to prison for the drunk driving crash that killed a Clearwater police officer nearly a year ago. Scott Hollingsworth, 26, died in March 16, 2024, as he was going home after working his shift for the Clearwater Police Department.

USD 261 says new bond won’t raise taxes

TSnews HAYSVILLE – The USD 261 Haysville School District will put a $79.725 million bond to voters on April 8. The bond is primarily focused on a long list of expensive but needed improvements at buildings across the district.
