Guinn earns law degree

GODDARD – Noah Thomas Guinn of Goddard was among a record 3,762 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during commencement exercises May 8-9. Guinn earned a Juris Doctor from the College of Law.

Extension to offer free suicide prevention training

KINGMAN COUNTY – The Kingman County Health Coalition will host a free community suicide prevention training session next Thursday, June 11, at The Hangar in downtown Kingman. The event, titled “Support for Loved Ones: Understanding Suicide Awareness,” will provide participants with QPR training – which stands for Question, Persuade, Refer – a nationally recognized suicide prevention program designed to help community members recognize warning signs and connect individuals with appropriate support resources.

Clearwater ponds added to warning list

SEDGWICK COUNTY – Chisholm Ridge Ponds in Clearwater have been added to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) blue-green algae warning list. The ponds were elevated to the warning list on May 29.
