Still golden: Clearwater wins 4x100 again

TSnews The Clearwater Indians girls won the Class 4A 4x100-meter relay on Saturday at the State track and field meet, which took place last weekend at Wichita State University. The Indians – with Mille Allread, Callie Noland, Kynlee Martin and Ali Thompson – defended their State title in the relay with a mostly-new lineup.

Garden Plain’s Long gathers three State medals

TSnews Garden Plain’s Brant Long, a junior, earned three medals at the Class 3A State track and field meet, which was held last Friday and Saturday at Wichita State University. Long battled for the State championship in high jump before finally settling for silver.

Colts complete season at State track

TSnews The Campus Colts turned in some of their best performances of the season at the State track and field meet at Wichita State University, held last weekend. The Colts did not earn any team points and made the finals in just one event, but still performed at their very best in several events.

Raiders compete at State meet

Vaulters lead Lions at State meet

Ranz takes silver in 5A pole vault

TSnews Ella Ranz of Eisenhower High School capped her high school track and field career with the pole vault silver medal in Class 5A at last weekend’s State track and field meet. Ranz set a personal best of 12-0, matching the best height of gold medal winner Kyndal Schneider of Lansing.

Great Bend edges Tigers in State quarterfinals

TSnews SALINA – The Eisenhower Tigers softball team’s unexpected run in the Class 5A State playoffs did not end without a fight. The Tigers and Great Bend were scoreless after four innings of last Tuesday’s Class 5A quarterfinal contest, but the Panthers scored solitary runs each in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings to edge Eisenhower 2-0 and move on to the State semifinals.

Andale-GP comeback falls just short in State semis

TSnews LAWRENCE – The Andale- Garden Plain softball team nearly pulled off an impressive comeback in last Friday’s Class 4A matchup with the Wamego Raiders. Trailing by three runs entering the bottom of the seventh inning and without a hit to that point, Andale- GP scored twice and had the tying run on third base – and the winning run at the dish – before falling 3-2 to the Raiders at Arrocha Ballpark.

One gold, two silvers for Conway Springs

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals girls track and field team earned a gold medal and two silvers at last weekend’s Class 2A competition at the State track and field meet, as the Cardinals collected a total of six medals. Eleven different girls and boys competed.
