The Clearwater Indians softball team suffered its first loss of the season on Monday as the Indians dropped a 9-4 decision at Circle. However, Clearwater rallied for a 7-5 win in the nightcap to salvage the split.

Baseball

Reece Tolar had a day to remember for the Cheney Cardinals in the second game of last Thursday’s baseball doubleheader at Chaparral. Tolar struck out a school-record 18 batters as he tossed a one-hitter in a 7-1 win over the host Roadrunners to complete the sweep.

Eisenhower played at Hutchinson on Tuesday, and will play Derby this Thursday for the first of three straight home games. Goddard visits next Tuesday, and the Tigers play Newton after that.

Jags top Lions

The Goddard Lions had a good start in their only game last week, taking a 2-1 lead over the Maize South Mavericks in the first half. A pair of goals by the Mavs put the Lions down 3-2 at halftime.

Tigers corral the Colts

The Eisenhower Tigers picked up their fifth win of the season with a 4-1 victory over the host Campus Colts in Haysville. The Tigers snapped the Colts’ three-game winning streak while extending their own win streak to five games.

Tennis

The Eisenhower Tigers boys tennis team tied with Winfield for second at the Newton Invitational last Thursday. Eisenhower and Winfield finished with nine points apiece, three points behind tournament champion and host Newton.

Colts, Tigers swim to first, second

The Campus Colts and Eisenhower Tigers were first and second, respectively at last Thursday’s eight-team meet in Haysville. Campus scored 386 points for an 88-point margin of victory.
