Conway Springs makes quick work of Stanton County

Body TSnews It took very little time in last Friday’s Class 1A football playoff game to see that the Conway Springs Cardinals were the better team. The host Cardinals scored 28 points and forced two turnovers in the first quarter alone.

Colts fall to Northwest

Body TSnews The powerful Wichita Northwest Grizzlies beat the Campus Colts 54-14 in last Friday’s Class 6A playoff game in Wichita, bringing an end to the Colts’ football season. The Colts end the season with a 2-7 record.

Bad first half brings end to Lions’ season

Body TSnews Murphy’s Law reads, “Whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible moment.” That sums up the Goddard Lions’ first half against the Maize Eagles in last Thursday’s home playoff game, when the Lions fell behind 31-0 before ultimately losing 31-22.

Body The Cheney High School girls placed first as a team at the 3A regional cross country meet last weekend “They didn’t necessarily hit the times they were hoping for based on what we had seen others run on that course two weeks earlier,” said Coach Rich Simmons.
