TSnews After taking first place at home last week, the Campus Colts swim team took the top of the leaderboards at the Salina South and Salina Central co-hosted meet on Nov. 30.
TSnews With their white uniforms blending in with the heavy snowfall, the Cheney Cardinals turned in a dominant performance in winning their first-ever State football title, a 34-7 victory over the Topeka Hayden Wildcats. Both teams struggled to move the ball.
TSnews Another chapter has been written in the outstanding history of Conway Springs football. The Cardinals won their eighth State championship – the first at Class 1A – with a dominating 35-6 victory over the Jefferson County North Chargers.
TSnews The Campus High School boys swim team started its 2023-2024 season strong at the first home meet of the season, placing first as a team. Together they scored a total of 340.50 points.
TSnews The Cheney Cardinals took the top volleyball awards in the Central Plains League. Senior outside hitter Alex Bittner was named player of the year, and Sara Walkup was chosen as coach of the year.
TSnews Several local volleyball players earned all-league honors in the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League. Four local schools play in the AVCTL – Campus in Division I, Goddard and Eisenhower in Division II, and Clearwater in Division IV.
TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals have their sights set on the eighth State football championship in school history. The Cardinals will play the Jefferson County North Chargers for the Class 1A State championship at 1 p.m.
TSnews Miracle finishes and comebacks are becoming routine for the Cheney Cardinals. For the second time this season, the Cardinals dug themselves out of a big hole early to defeat the dominant Andale Indians, the best team in Class 3A over the past four years.
TSnews It was close and then it wasn’t, until it was again. The Eisenhower Tigers’ best-ever football season ended in a 42-39 loss against the Kapaun-Mt.
